Dance performance at Richmond Cultural Centre

Richmond Cultural Centre’s premier dance
company offers a weekend dance showcase, Friday through Sunday (March 2 to 4)
at the centre and is open to the public. The $7 tickets to the showcase, called
Choices, can be purchased by phoning 604-247-8300 or in person at the Cultural
Centre.
According to the City of Richmond, each of
the 25 dancers in the troupe, “Have faced in their own lives and the effects
their choices have had on themselves and the world around them,” to create
their individual dance numbers.
As well as introspection, the dance school
provided, “additional instructors to learn an eclectic mix of dance styles with
guest musicians providing live musical accompaniment for selected pieces and
tap performer, Fernando Martin-Del-Campo, joining the company on stage.”
Performances will take place Friday and
Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Richmond Cultural Centre
Performance Hall.
“The
Richmond Youth Dance Company is a signature program of the Richmond Arts
Centre,” says the City of Richmond. “These dancers dedicate themselves to
honing their skills demanding both mental and physical rigour with many of them
having taken classes at the Richmond Arts Centre since they were small
children. This production is an opportunity to witness these dancers’
remarkable progress over the years.”
